Blackpool Beach – What You Need To Know BEFORE You Visit

(Last Updated On: January 19, 2023)

With nearly 7 miles of sandy beach, Blackpool beach was recently awarded its very first Blue Flag!

Go for a swim with the peace of mind that comes from lifeguards being on duty, or purchase a bucket and spade to play in the sand.

If you’re not a fan of sand, there are plenty of benches lining the beach.

You’ll find all sorts of nostalgic classics along the shore like donkey rides, and there are ramps for easy access.

Whether you’re the type of person that just wants to bring a deckchair along and have a relaxing sunbathe or you want to come and enjoy the piers along the promenade, there’s something for everyone along Blackpool beach.

For those that are on a budget, it’s one of my top free things to do in Blackpool.

How to get to Blackpool Beach

You can get off at any of the train stations such as Squires Gate or Blackpool South and walk down to the beach in a short few minutes.

For those that want to take the Blackpool Trams, you can get off at any stop along the coast, depending on which part of the beach you want to visit.
