Carowinds – What You Need To Know BEFORE You Visit

(Last Updated On: May 10, 2023)

Carowinds is recognised as one of the finest amusement parks in North America and welcomes visitors from every region of the country.

It should come as no surprise that a large number of people visit the theme park each year given the extensive collection of roller coasters and other high-adrenaline rides it offers.

The park was opened to the public in March of 1973 and its construction cost a total of 70 million dollars.

It was the result of four years of planning by Earl Patterson Hall, who was inspired by the success of Disneyland and other theme parks around the world.

Carowinds is now spread out over a total area of 407 acres and features not only a water park known as Carolina Harbor but also a number of hotels and dining establishments.

The amusement park is home to a number of special occasions all through the year, including SCarowinds in the autumn and WinterFest in the wintertime.

Carowinds is a great place to go for a thrilling adventure with friends or a fun day out in Charlotte with the whole family.
