Exploratorium History
The Exploratorium opened in 1969 as a center for teaching and learning about science, art, and human perception.
It was founded by physicist and educator Dr. Frank Oppenheimer, and has since grown to become one of the world’s most renowned science museums.
It has welcomed over 50 million visitors from around the world, and continues to be a leader in innovative and inspiring exhibits, activities, and educational programs.
