Galveston Island Brewing History

Founded in June of 2014 by owners Mark and Liesel DellOsso, GIB initially operated on a 5barrel brewing system made of dairy farm equipment with just 3 tanks for fermenting beer.

The brewery has since grown and now operates on a 20barrel system, with brewing capacity at 8,000 barrels per year. GIB’s flagship beer, Tiki Wheat, is what helped launch the brewery’s brand from Galveston Island to the Greater Houston area.

In 2021, GIB broke ground on a 4,400 square foot expansion which would double their production capabilities.

This expansion would also include a new rental space for events and expand their specialty beers division, including a barrel aging and sour barrel aging program.
