Galveston Island Ferry – What You Need To Know BEFORE You Visit

The Galveston Island Ferry provides free transportation between Galveston Island and Bolivar Peninsula.

Two vessels are available to transport passengers, with one vessel operating 24 hours a day and the second operating from 6:30 a.m.

During the summer and holidays, up to five vessels may operate based on traffic volumes.

The maximum vehicle weight allowed is 80,000 pounds while the maximum length, height, and width are 65 feet, 13.5 feet, and 8.5 feet, respectively. The ferry service is an ideal way to travel between Galveston Island and Bolivar Peninsula.
