Galveston Railroad Museum – What You Need To Know BEFORE You Visit

The Galveston Railroad Museum is one of the five largest restored railroad collections in the country. Located in the heart of Galveston, it is filled with a variety of exhibits and artifacts that tell the rich history of the railroads in this area.

There are over 40 pieces of locomotives and rolling stock included in the collection.

The museum also owns a mile of track for caboose rides that take place on Saturdays. In addition to the exhibits, the museum also has an indoor and outdoor venue available for private events.

The museum has a 1932 Art Deco Depot, which is filled with exhibits, a gift shop with fun toys for children, and a 4acre rail yard.

There is also an interactive display of lights and cross bucks for visitors to explore. It is the perfect place for groups and field trips, and also makes for a great family outing.

The museum also offers weekly caboose rides, weather permitting. It is sure to provide an educational and entertaining experience for everyone.
