Being on the road in London may be hazardous if you are from a country that drives on the right, as the UK drives on the left.

When you’re crossing roadways, keep an eye on traffic flow and street signs.

If you’re ever unsure, just look for a group of people traveling in the same direction and follow their lead.

2. Always Make Sure to Have An Umbrella

The UK is well-known for its unpredictable weather, and rain may strike at any time of year.

You can expect snow from November through mid-March. In the event that you are out in the snow, pack a few extra outfits.

3. Walking is Sometimes Faster than the Tube

The Tube system in London is well-known across the world, and as a tourist, it’s easy to be swept away by the hype and use the Tube everywhere.

However, walking may sometimes be faster.

Take a look at London’s maps to see if you’ll need to take the tube on any of your trips that require two or three Tube stops.

4. Stick to Shopping on a Weekday

Although Oxford Street is home to many of London’s luxury brand outlets, it can be quite crowded on weekends.

To have a better shopping experience, wait to go during the week.

6. Have a Universal Adapter with You

The majority of devices in the UK use a type G plug.

Make sure you bring a universal adapter for your phone and other devices.

Purchase one from back home so it’s cheaper, as in London they will cost more.

If you’re ever in London, make sure to stand on the right side of escalators so the locals can rushing by on the left! It’s not an obscure tip, but it is vitally important to those who live there and are always busy.

14. You Do Not Need to Tip

Londoners usually don’t have to tip at restaurants because there is often a service charge automatically added to the bill.

Even so, if you want to leave a little something extra for outstanding service, 10-15% is appreciated.
